A small eastern Caribbean island with a population of under 300,000 has one of the highest rates of prostate cancer worldwide. Now private donors are stepping up to help fight the disease.
In Barbados, a local charity called Cancer Support Services is sponsoring ads on popular radio stations to drive younger men to get the PSA test, in order to increase awareness and early detection. And it’s working. So far, they’ve held three PSA screening events and have drawn hundreds of men.
